According to a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, accessed by VerAngola, the minister "reviewed the situation in the Oil and Gas sector and the country's commitment to transparency in the extractive industries, making that financial resources affect, more and more, positively the populations".
"More Norwegian investment in Angola" is what is intended, summarized Diamantino Azevedo, who previously had another meeting with his Norwegian counterpart, Terje Asland.
On the occasion, says the note, "the host spoke about Europe's challenges in terms of energy supply, the result of difficulties in obtaining Russian gas". Thus, Terje Asland referred that they are interested in "developing natural gas resources" and other opportunities between Angola and his country.
"We are interested in developing natural gas resources and similar opportunities between your country and Norway", said Terje Asland, quoted in the guardianship note.
Diamantino Azevedo, on the other hand, said that "Angola wants to transform" the country's natural resources, as well as "adding them more value, recognizing, on the other hand, the role played by the oil company Equinor in the Angolan oil and gas sector".
Quoted in the note, the minister also said that they want "it to reinforce its activity and share its experience, above all, in the exploration of marginal fields, as it is an important company in the sector".
