According to José Francisco Bartolomeu Pedro, deputy governor for the political, social and economic area – responsible for opening the event –, the current edition is expected to reach more significant indicators than the previous editions, refers to Angop.
On the occasion, the person in charge – who was speaking on behalf of the provincial governor, Maria Antónia Nelumba – also highlighted the potential at the local level, given that it has an area of approximately one million hectares, as well as several cultures practiced by roughly 70 percent of the people, writes Angop.
Furthermore, quoted by Angop, the vice-governor also highlighted the fact that the locality is "rich" in water resources: it has a wide hydrographic basin made up of a dozen rivers, providing water to citizens, for irrigation and also for produce electrical energy.
According to the Provincial Government of Bengo, this edition of the fair takes place under the motto "Agriculture in advanced Angola, creating solid bases for the diversification of the economy". The event will last for three days, between 23 and 25 June.
Around 150 exhibitors from the municipalities of Ambriz, Dande, Dembos, Pango Aluquém, Bula Atumba and Nambuangongo are present at the fair, according to the provincial government.
The fair aims to publicize the province's potential, promote agricultural production and share experience between entrepreneurs and agricultural cooperatives.
