The note states that the new operation starts this Monday and that the flights will be operated by planes of the flag company, with Madrid as the final destination or stopover to European cities integrated in the network of the Spanish carrier Iberia.

The new route results from the signing of the partnership between TAAG and Iberia in May.

"TAAG will have two weekly flights on this route, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER with a capacity of 293 seats, 12 in the 'business plus' class, 56 seats in the 'standard business' class and 225 seats in the economy class", details the statement, specifying that the flights will be carried out on Thursdays and Sundays, at 9 pm, in the direction of Luanda-Madrid, and on Mondays and Fridays, at 11:55 pm, in the direction of Madrid-Luanda.

"With the 'codeshare' and 'interline' agreement signed by TAAG and Iberia, passengers from Luanda can, through a single ticket, paid in kwanzas, arrive in Madrid as their final destination or stopover for a connecting flight (operated by Iberia) to several cities in Europe, namely: Portugal (Porto), Germany (Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, Berlin), Italy (Rome, Milan, Bologna) Belgium (Brussels) United Kingdom (London), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona) , Seville, Valencia, Corunha, Vigo, Alicante and Bilbao)", the note added.

Eduardo Fairen, chairman of TAAG's Board of Directors, quoted in the statement, said that "this new Luanda-Madrid-Luanda route represents TAAG's will to promote a greater connection between Africa and Europe".

"We are focused on increasing our network of destinations and offering our customers the best possible service. We are excited about the agreement with Iberia, which allows each company to incorporate the partner's network into its offer of destinations, and to provide families and to the corporate segment more travel options from our 'hub' from Luanda to Europe, via Madrid", he concluded.
