For its beginning, the academy – called "Estrela do Futuro" – will have 100 boys, aged between 13 and 16, in the beginner and youth classes, informed Teodorico Rainha, president of the project.
Cited by Angop, the official made it known that this undertaking – which is an initiative of the Opaia group – aims to train players, provide opportunities for children in the world of football as well as instilling values in them.
The president of the academy also clarified that while they are waiting for the construction of the academy and boarding school to start – to be installed in the Belém do Dango area – training will take place in the various fields of Huambo.
Furthermore, Teodorico Rainha, who did not mention the costs of the project, said that several companies, both national and foreign, support the undertaking, having provided sports materials, writes Angop.
