Angola and Brazil defend private investment to promote economic partnership

The ministers of Foreign Affairs of Angola and Brazil defended this Thursday, in Luanda, at a seminar with businessmen, that private companies should guide economic development and bilateral exchanges between the two countries.

:

"We must follow this path that leads us to greater economic freedom, with greater stimulation of the participation of national and foreign private actors in our economies," said Carlos França, Brazilian Foreign Minister, citing changes in global production chains.

"In this way we will be more prosperous and follow the path of development that our nations and our people deserve," he added.

The Brazilian official was speaking at the seminar "Brazil - Angola Economic Partnership: Financing Solutions", in Luanda.

"With regard to the financing of bilateral trade, I understand that very significant changes have taken place in recent years, in Brazil and Angola. Such changes represent challenges to which the private sector must seek innovative solutions", he advocated.

The meeting in Luanda was also attended by Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who outlined actions to make the private sector more inclusive in the economic process and in bilateral exchanges with Brazil.

The head of Angolan diplomacy said that the implementation of the Cooperation and Investment Facilitation Agreement (ACFI), signed between Angola and Brazil, meets the desire to create opportunities for the private sector, facilitating investment in strategic areas such as agribusiness, manufacturing industry and tourism.

"It is in this context of modernization of the structure for doing business in Angola, although some Brazilian companies and investors present in this forum are already operating in the Angolan market, we encourage and invite you to face the investment opportunities that our country offers in various domains", said Téte António.

"I also encourage Angolan businessmen to invest and take advantage of this excellent opportunity to establish partnerships, with reciprocal advantages in this competitive business world, which will allow for an increase in the volume of trade between the two countries", he concluded.

The meeting was attended by representatives of institutions such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and business banking, among others.

Carlos França traveled to Luanda accompanied by a delegation that includes businessmen, the director general of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency and four parliamentarians.

The Brazilian minister participated in the 3rd meeting of the High Level Bilateral Commission (CBAN) Brazil-Angola and also participates in the XXVII Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), on Friday.
