Governing bodies of the Angolan Football Federation take office after deadlock

Seven months after the impasse, the Provincial Court of Luanda lifted on Saturday, in Luanda, the injunction that prevented the social bodies of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) to take office, for alleged irregularities during the electoral process.

:

The document that reports the decision of the Court was presented this Saturday during an Extraordinary General Meeting of FAF, at a time when members demanded the establishment of a management committee.

The referred organ of justice understands that there are no impediments to the inauguration of the direction led by Artur Almeida e Silva, for the inexistence of accused and condemned elements, by the justice, in the winner list, according to the complaint brought by the removed candidate, Norberto de Castro.

The associates present, in turn, were surprised by the document and the consequent decision.

The Provincial Football Association of Luanda, the largest electoral college, assured that it will impugn the inauguration of Artur Almeida e Silva, reappointed to the second consecutive mandate.

In statements to Lusa news agency, Norberto de Castro, the candidate who brought the action, assured that he has already appealed, considering the court's decision an error.

In turn, Artur Almeida e Silva, the re-elected president, promises to work with the soccer family for the development of the premier sport in Angola.
