Bornito de Sousa in Zambia for Kenneth Kaunda's funeral

The Vice President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, travels this Thursday, July 1st, to the Republic of Zambia, where he participates, on behalf of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in the funeral ceremonies of the first President of the Republic of Zambia, Kenneth David Kaunda.

In addition to the solemn act of homage to the so-called "Father of Independence" and founder of the Zambian Nation, Friday, in Lusaka, the Vice-President has planned official meetings with different entities, with emphasis on the President of the Republic of Zambia, Edgar Lungu , to whom he should deliver a message from the Angolan Head of State.

Remember that Kenneth Kaunda, the country's first President, died on June 17, aged 97 years. The former ruler had been hospitalized the day before for pneumonia and died "peacefully".

The former head of state led the former British protectorate for 27 years.
