Aguinaldo Cristóvão, elected with 158 votes in favor, one against and no abstentions, for a term of five years, replaces the jurist Florbela Araújo, elected Ombudsman on May 20th also by the National Assembly, which gave her inauguration last week .
A government statement recalls that the new deputy ombudsman was secretary of State for Culture and director of the Legal Office of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment.
