In a decree, the guardian explains that the documents of stay in the country - residence permits, refugee cards and investor visas, work, study and temporary stay - that have already passed their expiration date or are about to expire will remain valid until August 31.
The decision was taken "taking into account that the national borders remain closed indefinitely, resulting in the prohibition of movement of means of transport of passengers to and from Angola and, consequently, the possibility of loss of validity of documents relating to the stay of foreigners in national territory," indicates the ministry.
According to the decree, dated June 23, this extension of validity applies "to foreign citizens who are in national territory, which for some reason have not renewed their documents.
For foreigners who entered Angola with a tourism or border visa, "as well as under a facilitation agreement or visa exemption, the stay is ensured until the lifting of the ban on movement of persons at border posts," says the guardian, noting that these people must leave the country "as soon as the current impediments" cease to exist.
