Sindika Dokolo says documents used by the OPG "were forged" and appeals to the Court of Luanda

Isabel dos Santos' husband, Sindika Dokolo, admitted that he had filed "an embargo and an incident of falsehood" with the Luanda Provincial Court. In question are the documents used by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) to justify the seizure of the couple's assets.

According to Sindika Dokolo's lawyer, Walter Tondela, his client considers that the documents "were forged and deceived the court" and has therefore decided to proceed with this action.

Walter Tondela, in statements to the VOA, also reveals that the seizure of Isabel dos Santos and Sindika Dokolo's assets "seriously harmed the couple" and blames the justice for not having respected the adversarial principle before seizing the assets.

Considering that the court will accept Sindika Dokolo's challenge before proceeding to a more serious action, the lawyer said there is no doubt that Isabel dos Santos' passport, as well as other documents, used in the seizure process by the OPG "are false".

Walter Tondela also left a guarantee that if these actions are flouted by the Angolan justice, they will appeal to international courts.

It should be recalled that on 30 December last year the Luanda Provincial Court ordered the seizure of all the assets of Isabel dos Santos and Sindika Dokolo.

In May of this year, the businesswoman accused the PGR of using a false passport to justify the seizure of the accounts. The OPG denied the accusation, stating that the veracity of the passport in question was being investigated.
