This is yet another case of violence towards the Chinese community in Angola, as the citizen's body was found ‘wrapped in sticky tape’ and with clear signs of aggression, according to a National Police source.
The Chinese, about 35 years old, was found this Monday, around 8 am, in his apartment. According to the Novo Jornal, the crime took place that same morning when three citizens, armed with firearms, knocked on the expatriate's door.
The authorities did not elaborate further on the crime, knowing that it was only a case with details of violence.
Nestor Goubel, chief inspector of Luanda's Provincial Command of the National Police confirmed the crime, without giving further details. However, he advanced that the investigation is in charge of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) of Viana.
“Yes, I confirm the information and now SIC is already working to find out what will have happened in the condominium. Investigations are being carried out and as soon as we have elements, we will report the matter ”, said the official, quoted by Novo Jornal.
This is a situation that is repeated, since in May 2019 another Chinese citizen was also found dead, with signs of aggression, in a residence in the Maié-Maié neighborhood, in Sequele, in Cacuaco.
At the time, Juan Chang, representative of the Chinese community in the country, said that in the first six months of last year alone, at least 15 Chinese citizens were victims of murder in Angola.
The official affirmed that such situations are serious, and this repetition of crimes against the Asian community deters potential international investors.
