According to the figures, cited by Jornal de Angola, there was an increase of around 1.8 million dollars compared to 2018 - in that year the Port of Lobito registered a profit of 4.1 million dollars.
In addition, the amount collected from the provision of services also rose: in 2018 the port company made a profit of 15.9 million dollars while in 2019 the port collected 18.6 million dollars from the services.
As for cargo handling operations and other services, the figures show that the port closed its 2019 accounts with 159.9 million dollars.
Transport Minister Ricardo de Abreu said earlier this year that the Port of Lobito is very advantageous for the country by facilitating the entry and exit of goods to countries that do not have access to the sea and by helping to transport minerals through the Lobito Corridor.
