The first cases in this province occurred in the municipality of Cafunfo (Lunda Norte), with 22 reported on Saturday and two more on Sunday, which resulted in one death.
Other suspected samples are currently undergoing laboratory analysis, according to local authorities who have warned the population of the need to adopt preventive measures to control and contain the spread of the disease.
Cholera has caused 609 deaths in Angola since the beginning of the year, with 19,605 cases registered since 7 January, with Luanda, the epicentre of the disease, leading the list with 6,285 of the total infections.
Regarding deaths, the cumulative total is 609, of which 208 were in Luanda.
