Wearing the 'GF Team Angola' jersey, the Angolan – who recently recovered from an injury in February this year – reached the final of the competition after beating Cynthia Lourenço (from the Brazilian team 'Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club').

According to Angop, Heliane Caio, from the -69 kilograms category, made his debut in the international adult division as a purple belt, whose class is higher than his youth belt (blue belt).

After this event in Abu Dhabi, the Angolan will head to North American soil with a view to participating in the World Championship (IBJJF), which is scheduled for the period from May 29th to June 2nd, in California (United States of America).

In addition to Caio, the 'GF Team Angola' team was also represented, at the Grand Slam, by Jorge Pedro (brown belt) who fought in the 69 kilogram division, having won the first fight, but was disqualified in the second fight by decision of the referee, writes to Angop.

Along with these two, Angolan Ricardo Brito (-94 kilograms, from Academia Z1) also participated in the race. Although he did not win medals, he won one fight 10-0 but lost the second.
