Candy Factory already exports to São Tomé and Mozambique

Candy Factory, which started operating in Angola seven months ago, has already exported a total of 40 tonnes of sweets to São Tomé, Mozambique and Zambia and wants to sell to five more African markets soon, the company announced this Tuesday.

:

The factory was inaugurated in October last year and exported its first container, with about eight tons of sweets, pastilles and lollipops, in a total of more than one million units, in March 2023, to São Tomé and Príncipe.

"This month, the Candy Factory closed two more containers, of 16 tons each, for Zambia and another for Mozambique, totaling more than 40 tons of exported product - almost five million units of 'sambapitos' [chupa-chupas], candies and chewing gum", informs the company in a press release.

The next steps in Candy Factory's export markets are Cape Verde, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo (Congo Brazzaville), Ivory Coast and Ghana, advances the press release.

In Luanda, Candy Factory already has its 'Oko' brand in more than 5000 points of sale and has started distribution in the provinces of Huambo, Bié, Cuando Cubango, Benguela, Kwanza Sul and Huíla, also planning to enter Saurimo, Uíge, Malanje, Moxico and Cabinda.

The investment of 15 billion kwanzas, which results from the partnership between the Serbian group Nelt and the Angolan Oxbow, has a production capacity of over 6700 tons per year (more than 15 tons per day) and occupies an area of more than 24,000 square meters in the Special Economic Zone.

The company intends to hire 150 workers in the first two years of activity, of which more than 90 percent are Angolan, and generate a total of 350 direct and indirect jobs in this initial phase.
