The aforementioned project aims to develop the tourist activity in Tundavala, without losing its character. According to Angop, the building of a cable car, a 25-metre glass elevator, a place to camp, a restaurant, cafes, among other structures in order to attract more travelers (national and foreign) to the province, are foreseen in the project which is budgeted at 50 million dollars.
At the moment, there are no infrastructures in the area, however studies are underway to bring energy and water to Tundavala, in a process to be elaborated with the central authorities, writes Angop.
Speaking at the end of the visit, Carolina Cerqueira suggested more investment in the sense of turning Tundavala into a real tourist area, aiming at promoting the country's image both at continental and world level.
Cited by Angop, the president of the National Assembly said that the beauty of the place remains and, therefore, it should be better used in order to generate profits for the province. However, she added, for that it is necessary to have tourist infrastructure.
In addition, she also considered that if the project is carried out, it could serve as a tour of Lubango and Namibe, as well as making the place attractive and attracting resources for the development of local tourism, writes Angop.
"It is a private project and, therefore, we have to attract investment to effectively make Angola known to the world, so that they know our table, culture and idiosyncrasy. We with great pleasure accept to be an ambassador for this important project", said Carolina Cerqueira.
In turn, Jemma Kumba said, at the time, that the site is a relevant resource for Huíla, therefore it should be used in the best way. "We heard from the governor that this will be developed into a tourist center and I believe it will bring a lot of revenue to the province and the next time we come here, we hope to pay for it to get there," she added, quoted by Angop.
In Huíla – according to a note from the parliament, which VerAngola had access to – the parliamentary delegation was received by the provincial governor Nuno Mahapi. Afterwards, they visited the Lubango Science and Technology Center, as well as the Metalosul factory, ending the journey in Tundavala.
