Access to the KK-5000 centrality threatened by a large ravine

Approximately four meters deep and 40 meters long, a ravine located next to the wastewater retention basin of the KK-5000 centrality reached one side of the dirt road, in the direction of Quenguela and Barra do Cuanza, threatening road traffic that allows access to the housing project KK-5000, located in Belas.

The advance of the ravine has raised concerns among some drivers traveling on the KK-5000/Bita Tanque route, who are asking for immediate intervention by the authorities.

This is the case of taxi driver Jonas da Conceição, who explained – in statements to Angop – that the ravine has progressed as a result of the latest floods, translating into a scenario that has been worrying drivers passing by.

Although the road has been the target of interventions this year, there is an urgent need for requalification in order to put an end to the holes present in certain places on the road, which were generated by the last rains, said the taxi driver, quoted by Angop.

Joaquina Jamba said that it takes "a lot of prudence" to walk in this area at the moment, with special attention during the night. "Currently circulating in this area requires a lot of caution on the part of motorists, due to the appearance of this ravine, mainly at night", she said, quoted by Angop.

On their turn, according to Angop, those responsible for the technical area of the Municipal Administration of Belas said they were aware of the situation, as well as in constant dialogue with the central structures to stop the said ravine.

Remember that the last rainy season caused more than 300 deaths and more than 600 injured, among other damages.
