Virgílio de Fontes Pereira said, in a political declaration by the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), that this action stems from the commitment assumed by the party in its political agenda for this year.

According to the parliamentary leader, because this whole process "claims the broadest consensus of the country's living forces and not just the political parties", taking into account that citizens in an organized way will also be able to participate in the constitution of municipal bodies, the parliamentary group of the MPLA "once again reiterates its availability to search for the best solutions in time and space".

"And he takes the opportunity to encourage the executive to continue the process of administrative deconcentration and decentralization, aiming at the implementation of the municipalities, acting with the actions already defined and in progress, such as the program to reinforce administrative and financial deconcentration", he said. .

Virgílio de Fontes Pereira encouraged the Government of João Lourenço to also proceed with the construction and rehabilitation of administrative and municipal infrastructures, the program to adjust the administrative political division, the communication mechanisms for the establishment and change of residence and the national training program for cadres of municipal administrations.

"All this taking into account the need to ensure the irreversibility of the quality of the services provided, that is, that administrative decentralization is not, from the perspective of citizens and companies, perceived as a setback in the provision of public services to society" , he said.

The MPLA parliamentary group, in the voice of its leader, made itself available to all political parties with a parliamentary seat, "without exceptions", for "the actions of concertation, which in the institutional framework of parliament are required, counting as much as possible with the collaboration of civil society".

The deputy left "a strong appeal to all political forces and all Angolans" to mobilize "around work, family, cohesion and national unity".

The year 2020 had been appointed by the President of the Republic as the indicative date for holding the first local elections in Angola, which until now have not taken place, essentially due to the delay in the approval of the local legislative package.

The leader of the MPLA parliamentary group emphasized the efforts of the ruling party for the country's economic and social development, stressing that all actions carried out by the Government "cannot be ignored by anyone".

“Not even by those whose demagoguery and lies characterize their speeches in authentic exercises of political falsehood, I mean those who constantly and permanently propagate the narrative, according to which the MPLA and the executive it supports do nothing. says, there are no arguments against facts", he said.
