The decision was taken at the last extraordinary general meeting of the OAA, held on Saturday in Huambo, which had as a single point on the agenda the assessment of the current state of justice and the role of the advocacy.

According to an OAA source contacted by Lusa, Joel Leonardo's removal process will undergo an unspecified precautionary measure.

Joel Leonardo has, for months, been accused of being allegedly involved in acts of corruption, nepotism, mismanagement of the body and others, facts that have already led the Attorney General's Office to take steps at the headquarters of the Supreme Court and the Superior Council of magistracy.

The OAA also urged the President of the Republic, as the nation's highest magistrate, to invite Joel Leonardo to present his letter of resignation, without prejudice to the presumption of innocence, while the publicly announced investigative processes take place, according to the final communiqué to that Lusa had access to.

The OAA also decided to hold a national meeting to analyze the state of justice administration in Angola.
