"Let us await with serenity the progress of the ongoing work that is being carried out by the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic)", exhorted the head of state, in a speech in Luanda, on the occasion of the inauguration of eight new judges of the TS.
Joel Leonardo, presiding judge of the TS, has been accused for months of being allegedly involved in acts of corruption, nepotism, mismanagement of the body and others, facts that have already led the PGR to carry out diligences at the headquarters of the TS and the Superior Council of Magistracy.
According to the head of state, the Public Prosecutor's Office is "working on ascertaining the truth of the facts", stressing that, from a judge who advises a court, "an exemplary behavior is always expected in the face of the work he performs and his position in society".
In a speech in which he also criticized the former president of the Court of Auditors (TdC), the head of state also considered that "Angolan justice is increasingly dynamic, active and fulfilling the role expected of it".
Anabela Couto de Castro Valente, António Fernando Neto da Costa, Artur Domingos Gunza, Inácio Paixão, Maria Guiomar Vieira Dias Gamboa Craveiro, Paciência Graça Diaquisse Dondeiro Simão, Pedro Nazaré Pascoal and Raul Carlos de Freitas Rodrigues are the magistrates sworn in today as judges TS advisers.
