Angolan projects highlighted in the 'Startupper Challenge of the Year'

Young Angolan entrepreneurs were featured in the third edition of the 'Startupper Challenge of the Year', promoted by TotalEnergies. The winners were announced this Wednesday, in Luanda.

The jury chose the 'Eco-Telhas' project, by entrepreneur Nuno Cruz, as the winner of the 'Best Business Creation Project' category. This consists of the production of sustainable tiles through the reuse of waste, such as tetra pack packaging.

The distinction of 'Best Entrepreneur' went to Juelma de Castro, for the project 'Dá uma Pilha'. This is a digital platform for raising investment for projects by women entrepreneurs by the young Angolan woman.

The 'Best Existing Startup Under Three Years Old' is called 'Adubo Orgânico' and is a project by Augusto Campos that advocates the production of fertilizer through the composting of organic waste.

The winners of this TotalEnergies initiative will receive financial support for their projects (more than three million kwanzas), as well as personalized incubation for the development of their project and media visibility.

This third edition of the 'Startupper Challenge of the Year' involved 32 African countries, 35,000 entries and 491 finalists.

In Angola, from 1025 applications, a panel of juries selected, from the last 15 finalists, the three winners of the challenge.

The selection criteria were based on the 'Sustainable Development Goals' of the United Nations, on the innovative nature and on the feasibility and potential for development, says a statement sent to VerAngola.
