The Provincial Government of Bengo, in a note made available on its Facebook page, states that "more than 2000 young people should gain direct or indirect employment", as a result of the initialing of a memorandum between the National Youth Council and the Edson Drov's Group, within the scope of the Youth Program to Support National Production, "with the planned start-up of a tomato and fruit processing factory, located in Açucareira, in Caxito, Dande municipality".
With the capacity to process five tons of tomato pulp and paste per hour as well as 750 kilograms of banana chips, the factory "will serve as a driving force, through the absorption of agricultural production from young producers".
Isaías Kalunga, president of the National Youth Council, quoted in the note, said that the start of the first production phase at the factory is scheduled for the beginning of the second half of this year.
In addition, the agreement also provides for the promotion of paid internships to 100 young people per year, as well as establishing support for entrepreneurship, "with material and financial support to youth producers gathered in cooperatives, in the fields of agriculture and fishing (fish farming - production of Tilapia)".
In turn, Mara Quiosa, provincial governor of Bengo, left a recommendation to young people: to organize themselves "properly", with a view to "being able to access the various incentives created by the Executive for the productive sector".
The Youth Program to Support National Production has already generated 26,000 jobs across the country.
