FIB 2022 forecasts a turnover of 500 million kwanzas

A turnover in the order of 500 million kwanzas is the forecast of the organization of the Benguela International Fair (FIB) for this year's edition. The volume is thus expected to double compared to last year, in which a turnover of 250 million kwanzas was recorded.

:

The prediction was made by Bruno Albernaz, chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of Arena. Cited by Angop, the official predicted that the business volume would grow by 50 percent compared to 2021 (the values were fixed at 250 million kwanzas).

Speaking at the pre-launch press conference of the fair, the official also mentioned that the event had doubled the number of companies to be present at the fair. A factor that he considered as a good sign for the increase in "invoicing".

Cited by Angop, Bruno Albernaz also informed that of the participating companies, only three are foreign (the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the United Kingdom and the Netherlands and a company from Turkey). However, he considered that despite the fact that the foreign representation is small, these entities will bring competitive benefits, emphasizing the support to agribusiness and the sharing of their experience with national companies.

Marking its 11th edition this year, the event – which starts this Wednesday with 224 exhibitors – will be dominated by the commerce and services, industry and agribusiness sectors.

In this sense, the official considered that the vision of the event will be summarized in three words: "produce, transform and sell".

He also admitted that the participation in this edition exceeded initial expectations, which is why the exhibition areas were expanded to four, something that did not happen in the previous edition.

He also took the opportunity to highlight the resilience that has marked the event over the years. "The will to continue made the FIB assert itself and naturally become the support center, in the sense of bringing companies, people and businesses together", he added.

Regarding visits, the organization hopes to reach the mark of 10 thousand visitors during the four days of the event, writes Angop.

This year's edition of the FIB – which takes place every year – takes place between this Wednesday and Saturday, under the theme "Agribusiness as a support for the development of the southern region of Angola".

In addition to the fair, the event will also include a Talk Summit, which will focus on the discussion of various subjects, among other conferences and debates.
