TAP reinforces connection to Luanda with another flight starting on Wednesday

The Portuguese air carrier TAP will reinforce the Luanda-Lisbon connections, starting on Wednesday, with another weekly flight, according to information provided by the Consulate of Portugal in Luanda.

Thus, TAP will pass from Luanda to Lisbon on Wednesdays and Fridays, returning from Lisbon to Luanda on Thursdays and Sundays.

The airline TAAG also announced last week that it would have two weekly flights to Portugal, departing from Luanda on Wednesdays and Saturdays with destination and Lisbon and two reverse connections on Thursdays and Sundays.

Angola has, since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, restricted its airspace, having suspended direct flights to Portugal, Brazil and South Africa between 24 January and 13 March.

Subsequently, due to the increase in the number of cases, the executive presented new measures to halt the advance of the pandemic and decided to temporarily prohibit the entry into the country of non-resident foreigners from Brazil and India, determining "mandatory institutional quarantine" for nationals and foreign residents from both countries, due to covid-19.

According to the legal diploma, which came into force on 10 May and extends until 8 June, the temporary ban is also applicable to anyone who has transit through either country.
