José Maria Candungo, the park's manager, said that of the total of 90 million 750,000 kwanzas, 55 million kwanzas was for the acquisition of equipment and services provided by suppliers and 35 million 750,000 kwanzas was for salaries owed to 24 inspectors (some of which have been accumulating for six years).
Speaking to Angop, the official said that as well as the 24 inspectors, the park also employs 33 other people, and that it would need six million kwanzas per month for salaries.
However, the lack of payment to contracted inspectors led most of them to give up, he said, adding that the few who remained did so for "love of country.

Referring that six years ago the park benefited from a repopulation, José Maria Candungo complains about the lack of infrastructure, such as restaurants, to attract tourists and thus generate revenue.
According to the responsible, several requests from tourists end up not materializing due to the lack of conditions.
The park was created in 1938, initially as a hunting reserve and later in 1964 became a National Park. Currently it is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture and Environment.
