Port of Luanda manager launches recruitment contest for young Angolans

DP World Luanda, the company that manages and operates the concession for the Multiusos Terminal of the Port of Luanda, is recruiting young graduates to be trained by the company, under the “Grow” program.

This which is one of the business units of the multinational DP World - originating in Dubai and one of the main global providers of intelligent logistics solutions - launched the program this week, inviting young graduates and / or master's students to apply and join this training.

According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the program is open to young graduates and master's students in the following areas: Human Resources; Health, Safety and Environment; Operations; Engineering, Finance; Information and Marketing Technologies. The maximum age for applications is 25 years.

The company also states that the program is part of the commitment undertaken by DP World to contribute to the development of the communities where it operates. The objective is to accelerate the growth of young Angolan graduates who have great potential by providing advanced training and work experience.

In this way it also contributes to the integration of young people in the labor market and to the training, by DP World Luanda, of a different range of future leaders in the sector.

Candidates will be selected through a "rigorous interview and testing process", managed by an external local partner. As part of the commitment to inclusion and diversity, DP World encourages young women to participate.

Paco Pinzon, CEO of DP World Luanda, is proud that the company can "offer young Angolans an opportunity like this". And he underlines: "We strongly believe in investing in local content and we hope not only to guide and train trainees who join the program, but also to learn from their views on all of our areas, especially in the field of innovation and digital. We are also hopeful that, through the 'Grow' Program, we will be able to encourage and motivate other young people to look for career opportunities at DP World Luanda ".

In addition to this initiative, DP World Luanda also carries out other training and skills development programs for the employees of the Multiusos Terminal.

Those selected for the internship, which will last 18 months, will spend some time in the various departments of DP World Luanda, namely in the Commercial, Engineering, Operations and IT areas, with the aim of developing practical and business skills, in addition to gain experience in the logistics and trade sector, a vital industry for economic development.

DP World Luanda started operations at the Multiusos Terminal in the Port of Luanda on 1 March, after being awarded a public concession for a 20-year period.
