GPL transfers competencies to municipal administrations

The list of responsibilities of the municipal administrations of Belas, Cacuaco, Cazenga, Icolo and Bengo, Kilamba Kiaxi, Talatona and Viana increased this Monday. The Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) decided to transfer the competencies of territorial and urban management to the hands of these municipal administrations.


According to the decision, which is part of the set of measures aimed at strengthening administrative decentralization, the management of the Youth Community Centre of Ramiros will now be the responsibility of the municipal administration of Belas.

The management of the Municipal Urban Reconversion Project and of the Mulemba Cemetery is now in the hands of the municipal administration of Cazenga.

In turn, the industrial reserve of Sequele and Cacuaco, the agricultural reserve of Loge, the kennel and the local morgue will be managed by the municipal administration of Cacuaco, writes Angop.

The LPG also transferred the Catete morgue, the industrial, mining and agricultural reserves located in the communes of Bom Jesus, Catete, Quiminha and Cassoneca, to the municipality of Icolo and Bengo.

Talatona municipality will be responsible for the administration of the Youth Community Center and the Camama Cemetery, while Viana municipality will manage the Kikuxi hydraulic perimeter and the Calumbo mining reserve.

According to Angop, the list of transfers also includes the management of the Sapú Psychosocial Support Center and the Kilamba Kiaxi Morgue, which are now under the responsibility of the Kilamba Kiaxi administration.
