The official spoke at the workshop "Mobilizing women for greater participation in regional and international mechanisms", stating that the female class should have a say in international institutions, thus there being a need to work to reverse the current situation.

As examples, the minister appointed Josefa Sacko, African Union commissioner for Agriculture, Blue Economy and Environment and Teresa Manuel, representative of Angola in the African Union Commission on Human Rights.

"We recognize the commitment of Angolan women to civil society organizations, international diplomacy and the United Nations system, which have contributed to gender equality", underlined Faustina Alves, cited by Angop.

During the workshop, the participants also defended the need to outline strategies, in order to allow a greater integration of women in national and international institutions.

"Men and women must have equal opportunities in access to education and jobs, to allow greater insertion of the Angolan female class in different international platforms", said one participant.

The workshop, a joint initiative of the ministries of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women and Foreign Affairs, also made an analysis of the path of Angolan women in international organizations over time.
