João Lourenço approves construction of a new morgue that will cost 13 million dollars

The President of the Republic approved the expense for the construction of a new morgue in Luanda, in an estimated amount of US $ 13 million, through a simplified hiring process.

The presidential order published in the Diário da República, states that the expense is related to a contract for the construction and equipping of the Institute of Anatomy and Forensic Medicine (morgue) Central de Luanda and a contract for the supervision of the work, delegating the competences of the tender procedure. at the Minister of Health.

The order justifies the adoption of a speedy procedure at contractual level in view of "the concern and urgency of the executive to implement projects of central importance", with an impact on the improvement of services.

The project had been approved in June 2017, now "there is a need to update the approved costs due to the transfer of the site, as well as its resizing, to ensure the continuity of the project's execution", justifies the diploma.

Last week, João Lourenço also endorsed the construction of a new hospital in Bengo, worth more than US $ 50 million, through the financing line of Luminar Finance, linked to the Israeli group Mitrelli, with activity in various sectors in Angola.

Luminar Finance will also be responsible for the credit of US $ 763 million for the construction of three new centralities, in the provinces of Cunene, Bengo and Cabinda, in a total of 5,000 houses, approved in another presidential order of 29 April.
