World Bank evaluates development of public-private partnerships in Angola

A World Bank mission will be in Angola until next week to assess the activities carried out within the scope of the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), announced the Secretary of State for Planning, Milton Reis.

The information was shared at the presentation of the biweekly briefing conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP).

According to Milton Reis, quoted in a MEP press release, "the transversal objective of this mission is to address the activities carried out within the scope of the PPP, taking into account the current priorities, the evolution of the reforms implemented by the Angolan Government, and the next steps until closure of the project in July 2022 ".

During the mission, the feasibility report of the four projects already selected will be presented to the World Bank team: Chicapa II hydroelectric exploitation; irrigated perimeter of the Mucous; Futila Industrial Development Pole; and North Cabotage Network.

Angola has another PPP project underway for the Mulenvos Landfill, whose international public tender was launched on the 30th of April.

The competition will have a qualification phase, in which the candidates will submit their documents for the assessment of their technical and financial capacity, to run until 30 May, with the qualified candidates being invited to the next phase, in which they must submit their applications. proposals.

The concession for the management of the Mulenvos Landfill provides for the sorting and recovery of solid waste through recycling, sale of recycled waste, composting, incineration, biogas and energy production (biomass).
