Approximately 5.3 billion kwanzas is the amount that Mota Engil will receive for the construction of two bridges in Moxico province. At stake is the construction of a bridge over the Macondo River and another over the Inwena River.

:

According to Expansão, the construction of the bridge over the Macondo river is budgeted at 2793 million kwanzas, while the construction of the bridge over the Inwena river is estimated at 2521 million kwanzas.

All in all, the construction company will earn 5.3 billion kwanzas with the award of these contracts.

According to the same newspaper, the President of the Republic gave the green light to the celebration of the construction contract between the Ministry of Public Works and Land Planning and Mota Engil, the company that won the public tender launched by the Ministry.

The absence of solid bridges linking the upper Zambezi to the commune of Calunda has been hindering development in the region.

That area is connected by small wooden bridges that do not allow the circulation of heavy goods trucks. However, according to António Muquisse, municipal administrator, the problem should be overcome with the construction of about 20 bridges.

Cited by Expansão, the official explained that the bridges, which will be built as part of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in the Municipalities (PIIM) for Alto Zambeze, will link the communes of that area.
