There will be four Luanda-Lisbon flights this month and a possible Lisbon-Luanda connection on 22 May

Special flights will take place between Luanda-Lisbon on 12, 14 and 21 May, and the Lisbon-Luanda route is also scheduled to take place on 22 May, still subject to government authorisation.

Angola closed its borders on 20 March to contain the spread of the covid-19 pandemic, and has only authorised humanitarian flights to take foreign nationals who have been stranded in the country back to their countries of origin.

Four connections between the Angolan capital and Lisbon have been announced for this month. The first, a charter flight operated by Euroatlantic, chartered by tour operator SONHANDO and marketed by Travelgest, among other travel agencies, will take place on Tuesday.

Two days later it's TAP's turn, with a flight scheduled to leave at 3.10pm from Luanda towards Lisbon.

According to the Portuguese carrier, passengers with returns before 31 May may ask to change their tickets for this flight.

TAP will return to Luanda-Lisbon on 21 May, according to information from travel agency Ask4.

According to information from tour operator Across, a Hi Fly charter flight will also be operated on 22 May on the Lisbon (13h30) - Luanda (20h35) and Luanda (23h30) - Lisbon (06h15 of 23 May) routes.

However, the Lisbon-Luanda route is still subject to the Angolan government's approval for passengers to disembark in Angola, and those interested should contact travel agencies for further clarification.

The last flight from Portugal arrived in Luanda on 21 March.
