The 23-year-old was hit by a car in the Grafanil district on the Luanda-Viana road, driven by a Sonangol official. Kassova ended up not resisting her injuries and was immediately killed on the spot.
According to the family patriarch, Cacique Pena, in a statement to the newspaper Opaís, the young woman lived in the Grafanil district, where she was hit by a car with her husband and two children.
After what happened, the Sonangol employee reported to the police.
The wake will take place this Thursday at the Sovismo Complex - the administrative political centre of UNITA - and tomorrow, Friday, Kassova Pena will be buried in the Municipal Cemetery of Viana.
The family was quite shaken by the news, said the patriarch, adding that they were still recovering from the proper burial of Jonas Savimbi's bones in June 2019 at the family cemetery in Lopitanga.
According to Cacique Pena, the aim was to transfer Kassova's body to that cemetery, where the remains of Savimbi and his father, General Ben, are buried, but due to the presence of Covid-19 in the country it was not possible to make the transfer.
However, he revealed that the aim is to move the body to Lopitanga as soon as possible.
