According to the Minister of Economy and Planning, Sérgio Santos, a memorandum of understanding should be signed, already in the process of conclusion, with the Association of Textile and Clothing Manufacturers (AITC).
According to the minister, the initiative also arises to promote formal employment for women after the AITC has accepted the Government's challenge for the training and qualification of women from all over the country enrolled in the program.
"With this program, we want a minimum of 1000 ladies across the country to have access to a sewing machine and to support from the association for training, training to respond immediately to the production of more masks that are needed," he said.
Sérgio Santos was speaking in Luanda, during a memorandum signing ceremony between the Angolan National Institute of Support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Inapem) and trade and distribution operators and raw material suppliers, as part of the economic relief measures due to covid-19.
