In addition to combating the pandemic, the leaders also spoke about "the cooperation of their countries in this fight and what can be done in the post-covid" phase, a phase that was compared to a "period of reconstruction after a war".
Besides João Lourenço, the presidents of South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, the Prime Minister of Lesotho and the King of Eswatini were present at the online meeting.
