The Government approved the declaration of the state of public calamity, with new rules for the operation of public and private services to prevent covid-19, and restaurants can operate between 6:00 am and 3:00 pm until 8 June, the day when they become available be open until 10:30 pm.
The aim is to prepare for a "gradual process of returning to normal social life".
According to the diploma, to which Lusa had access, restaurants will have to ensure the recommended physical distance (two meters) between people on the premises and will have a limited number of people simultaneously in the restaurant space or similar up to the limit of 50 percent of maximum capacity, being obligatory to affix a plaque with the capacity of the space in a place visible to the public.
The tables will have a limit of four people, privileging the previous booking for the reservation of places by the customers and the 'take away', as well as the use of spaces destined to the customers in outdoor areas such as the terraces (whenever possible), being for now the self-service service is prohibited.
The establishments will have to ensure that the sanitary facilities of customers and employees make it possible to wash hands with water and disinfectants and must replace individual menus with menus that do not need to be handled by customers (for example, whiteboards or digital).
In the case of hotels, it is foreseen that from May 26th, temperature control will be mandatory at the entrance of the establishments, as well as the use of a mask in the access and in the areas of concentration of people.
The rules also provide for “strict cleaning of common surfaces and areas, including internal restaurants and bars, as well as cleaning at the entrance and in all areas where people are likely to be concentrated”.
It is also mandatory to rigorously disinfect the rooms between vacating and the subsequent occupation, as well as communicating to the health authorities about patients or suspects of the disease, and must isolate the suspect until the authorities arrive.
Nightlife establishments and game rooms remain closed and will be subject to specific regulations.
