According to DefenceWeb, the six planes are due to be delivered by the end of 2020.

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute's weapons transfer database, cited by the same website, last year Angola received two aircraft that will have been purchased in 2018.

The K-8W were manufactured in China by the Hongdu Aviation Industry Corporation, in conjunction with the Pakistani Air Complex. This type of aircraft can be armed with air-to-air missiles and can also house a 23mm cannon.

According to the same site, this model of aircraft has already been sold to several African countries: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Sudan, Ghana, Egypt and Namibia.

According to the VOA, the estimated price of each aircraft is around 10 million dollars - considered to be low cost.

Although this year Angola bet on Chinese equipment, in the past the country decided to buy from Russia, which confirmed it had delivered SU-30K fighter planes to Angola.
