"On April 8 and 9, the First Lady of Angola, Ana Dias Lourenço, fulfilled a work agenda at the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), in her capacity as Vice-President", reads a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access.

"The meetings held on a joint agenda with her counterpart, Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of Sierra Leone and President of the organization, reinforced the joint commitment to development and cooperation on the African continent," the note adds.

In addition to the "formal presentation of the new leadership to partners", the highlight was the presentation of the Strategic Four 2025-2030.

"With the new Strategic Framework for 2025-2030, OAFLAD reaffirms its leadership, vision and commitment to the development of Africa, based on the fundamental and transversal pillars relating to climate change, peace and security on the continent, as well as on the essential ones, relating to the strengthening of health systems to ensure universal and quality access for women and children, equitable and accessible education, economic empowerment of women and the eradication of gender-based violence", the statement said.

The organization aims to "advocate and promote impactful initiatives that lead to effective solutions to critical development challenges."

"With a firm commitment to a prosperous and equitable Africa, the organization advocates that all women and children have access to dignified and transformative opportunities," the statement said.

The program also included, the note says, "courtesy meetings between the president and vice-president of OAFLAD, with the President of the African Union Commission, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, with the director of the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union Commission, Alhaji Sarjoh Bah and with Zinash Tayachew, First Lady of Ethiopia".
