The data was released by the Secretary of State for Oil, José Barroso, at the presentation of the oil industry's performance in the first quarter and projections for the second quarter of the current year.

In the period under analysis, the country exported 85.1 million barrels of crude oil, registering a decrease of 13.5 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2024 and 9.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

José Barroso highlighted that there was also a 12.65 percent decrease in the amount collected compared to the last three months of last year.

China was the main export destination for Angolan oil, with 63.80 percent, followed by India, with 10.29 percent, Indonesia, with 6.43 percent and Spain and Malaysia with 3.40 percent and 3.22 percent, respectively.

The official said natural gas exports in the period under review totaled about 1.1 million metric tons, with Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) accounting for about 86 percent.

Gas exports increased by 19.27 percent compared to the same period in 2024, while they decreased by 5.5 percent compared to the fourth quarter of last year.

The state pocketed 758.7 million dollars from gas exports, "which represents an increase of approximately 0.21 percent compared to the previous quarter and approximately 87.20 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024."

"This growth was fundamentally the result of the rise in gas prices on the international market", explained José Barroso.

The European continent was the largest destination for LNG, accounting for 92.66 percent of the total, with the Netherlands standing out as the main destination, absorbing around 42.9 percent of the total volume exported.

The Secretary of State for Oil stressed that, during the period under analysis, the price of Brent on the international market showed a volatile trajectory, with a general downward trend, a situation that resulted from the combination of several factors, including the retraction in international demand for crude oil, registering an average price of 75.728 dollars per barrel.
