"Investing in early childhood is investing in the country's human capital. It is investing in a fairer, healthier and more prosperous future, individually and collectively", said the minister, in statements after the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding between the Court of Auditors and the Ministries of Finance, Health, Education and Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women.
"We believe that cooperation reinforced by the control, monitoring and oversight mechanisms that the Court of Auditors has will be an essential pillar to improve accountability, increase public trust and ensure results with true social impact," said Vera Daves, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Finance, to which VerAngola had access.
"The document, signed within the scope of the Technical-Scientific Conferences of the Court of Auditors under the motto: 'External Control and Public Policies for Early Childhood', aims to institutionalize strategic cooperation in the field of monitoring, inspection and evaluation of public policies for early childhood, in compliance with the constitutional principles of child protection and good governance", says the note.
The Technical-Scientific Conferences will take place until next Saturday, as part of the celebrations for the 24th anniversary of the Court of Auditors.
In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the court justifies that the "choice of this theme results from a deep reflection on the importance of childhood as the foundation of citizenship and the sustainable development of Angola".
"The decision was strongly influenced by the exposition contained in the document 'Master Lines on the Hands that Protect Program - Policies for Early Childhood', which establishes solid foundations for the promotion of inclusive, equitable and effective public policies aimed at the comprehensive protection of Angolan children", adds the note.
