The issue of the electronic passport was addressed this Monday, during a working meeting chaired by Manuel Homem, while matters related to the driving license and registration document were on the agenda this Tuesday, within the scope of the visit that the Minister of the Interior made to the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, in Luanda.
Regarding the passport, the Ministry of the Interior, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, informed that the implementation of this project will soon be announced.
"The Republic of Angola will soon learn about the implementation of the project to develop a new solution for the electronic passport," the note reads.
The meeting, held under the guidance of Manuel Homem with the technical teams, "ensured this and also served to evaluate the schedule established for meeting deadlines", the ministry said.
Road ownership was another topic recently analyzed by the minister. This Tuesday, Manuel Homem visited the Traffic and Road Safety Directorate to assess its operations.
"Confirming and evaluating aspects linked to identifying the level of performance of internal processes, especially in the issuing of driver's licenses and the attribution of vehicle titles, are among the objectives of the working visit by the Minister of the Interior, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, to the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, in Luanda, accompanied by the General Commander of the Angolan National Police, Chief Commissioner Francisco Monteiro Ribas da Silva", says the Ministry of the Interior, in another statement to which VerAngola had access.
On that occasion, the head of the Interior department interacted with users, and was informed that the deadline for issuing and withdrawing documents exceeds thirty days. According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), the governor guaranteed hard work to change this scenario.
"The Traffic and Road Safety Directorate's mission is to ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety and road safety; to issue licenses for driving motor vehicles; to organize the registration of drivers; to collect, register and control circulation fees and fines; as well as to carry out the licensing, inspection and control of driving schools and the granting of license plates to vehicles", says the ministry.
