"The President of the Republic will participate, in Lisbon, this Thursday, in the ceremonies commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, that is, the celebration of the end of the Estado Novo dictatorship implemented by Salazar", informed the spokesperson, cited in a video released by CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access.
According to Luís Fernando, João Lourenço "is invited" to this festive moment, "in the same way as the presidents of other countries who had to face the Salazar dictatorship in their historical process".
Regarding the trip of the President of the Republic, the spokesperson said that the trip is scheduled for this Wednesday: "For this mission abroad, the head of State leaves Luanda tomorrow, Wednesday".
It should be noted that at the beginning of this month, it had already been announced that João Lourenço was one of the heads of state expected at the celebrations of this date in the Portuguese capital.
Remember that the Carnation Revolution, which is also known as the April 25th Revolution, dates back to April 25th, 1974, in a movement that put an end to the dictatorship.
