Paula Coelho, who spoke on the sidelines of the VII In-person Seminar of the Lusophone Nucleus, which started this Tuesday in Luanda and which will continue until Friday, said that Angola does not yet have this tool like Cape Verde, with debates on the climate change convention very focused on implementing verification and control mechanisms.
The minister said that the Portuguese-speaking community feels the need for better alignment among themselves, to take advantage of the experience of each of the Member States, to learn from each other and learn lessons.
The Secretary of State for Climate Action and Sustainable Development defended the involvement of central banks in climate issues.
"We must look at sustainable finance in a more holistic way, create intersectoral protocols", she defended, adding that they would be a support for the protocols already existing between the member states of the community.
According to Paula Coelho, the meeting aims to align, above all, what the biannual reports will be and to publicize the goals that each country has managed to achieve so far.
At this seminar, Angola intends to share its experience on developing a new "more ambitious" target linked to decarbonization, in some sectors that already have more advanced work, such as transport, energy and water and oil, said the ruler.
The meeting aims to encourage sharing between Portuguese-speaking countries and increase the capacity to respond effectively and efficiently to the results of the 'Global Stocktake' (United Nations transparency mechanism for evaluating and monitoring the goals of the Paris Agreement).
The Lusophone Nucleus was created in November 2016, to promote the exchange of experiences between Portuguese-speaking countries and strengthen capacities to comply with communication and transparency obligations included within the scope of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in the Paris Agreement.
