Names such as Abel Epalanga Chivukuvuku, Matias Damásio, Carlos Burity (posthumous title), among others, are on the list of more than 400 personalities to be decorated, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, which VerAngola had access to.
"Taking into account that the Angolan people consented to enormous sacrifices for the conquest and preservation of National Independence, as well as peace, democracy and national reconciliation and that in this process countless personalities and national entities distinguished themselves for their achievements", refers the note, which adds that "it is convenient to pay special tribute to all those who have distinguished themselves, thus leaving a legacy so that the Nation can proudly see itself in the actions carried out by them", the decoration of more than 400 personalities was decreed.
Those targeted will be decorated with the Order of Peace and Concordia, Order of Civil Merit, Order of Freedom Fighters, among others.
