Fernando Medina, who started a visit to Luanda until Thursday, at the invitation of his counterpart, Vera Daves de Sousa, was speaking to the press after visiting the Angonabeiro company.

According to the minister, the founding entrepreneur of Grupo Nabeiro – Delta Cafés, who died on March 19, in Lisbon, left "a unique, unrivaled work in Portugal, in the business area, in the area of innovation, but fundamentally as a person with a deep social conscience".

The minister stressed that Rui Nabeiro was always "concerned with staying connected to his land, staying connected to his country, developing his land, his country, and worrying about those he could support at all times". "A person with a great civic and political conscience, always participating in various moments of the country's life", the minister also stressed.

The Portuguese official expressed satisfaction with the work carried out at the factory and the projects he has for the future, the new releases that are underway.

"It's also good to see that what was the relationship and culture that Rui Nabeiro left in the company is replicated here, basically a concern for local producers, a concern to also be able to serve the communities with which the company relates, therefore a good beginning of the visit", he said.

The holder of the Portuguese Finance portfolio said that he hoped that his visit would strengthen relations between Portugal and Angola, and that he could contribute to the work "so that words are translated into deeds".

The objective, he said, is that "obstacles will be resolved, opportunities will be created, opportunities will be obtained for Portuguese companies, opportunities for the development of various projects in Angola and a very close relationship that also exists in terms of the bilateral relationship in area of finance".

According to the minister, the visit also serves to assess the situation "and see what can be improved".

Fernando Medina stressed that bilateral cooperation between the two countries is "very strong", with the trip being an opportunity for the two ministers to continue to advance with joint work, whether in terms of cooperation, or in terms of technical relations and continuous support to various areas, or also at the level of various signed instruments.

Speaking to the press, the financial director of Angonabeiro, Carlos Gomes, pointed out that the company currently exports its product to Portugal and Switzerland.

"We have just exported a container to Switzerland and we intend to continue on this path. To project the Ginga brand, an Angolan brand in the international market, currently in the European market, but always available to open doors to other geographies", he said.

Carlos Gomes said that the company had started production of coffee capsules under the Ginga brand, initially only for the domestic market "with 100 percent Angolan coffee", with the product expected to be available in commercial areas within a month.

Currently, the company produces over 400 tons per year, between ground and grain, with an installed capacity to grow.
