According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, to which VerAngola had access, the members of CECOT were "very impressed", this Tuesday, during the meeting with the national delegation that is representing Angola in the 7th edition of the IMEX – Impulso Exterior - Barcelona 2023 fair, which is led by Victor Fernandes.

Thus, at the hearing, the holder of the Industry and Commerce portfolio mentioned the advantages that the country has for investment, such as "arable territorial extension, water, protection of foreign capital and, above all, young labor" , since "out of the 33 million inhabitants, around 75 percent are between 15 and 35 years of age", according to the minister, quoted in the note.

In addition, "he also described the change in the current economic model, which is being promoted in the country, which proposes to move from an economy based on oil exports to a diversified productive economy", adds the note.

The official also informed the confederation about Planagrão, which concerns a "national macro program, which reserves more than two million hectares for the production of grains".

It should be noted that on the Spanish side, Xavier Panés Sancho, president of CECOT – representative of 35 companies from Catalonia, the city that hosts most of the industrial structures in that European country – was accompanied by "Spanish businessmen in the areas of window frames and door automation , hospital supplies, frozen pastry products, industrial laundry, coffee production, cocoa", among others.

The businessmen, through Núria Betriu, General Director of Pastisart in the agri-food sector, "were unanimous in mentioning that Angola is a market that interests the Spanish business community and that this door that is once again opening is an added value for both countries", reads in the statement.

It should be noted that, within the framework of closer relations between Angola and Spain, the Minister of Industry and Commerce has been in Barcelona, since last Monday (April 17), where he leads a multisectoral delegation made up of more than 20 businessmen.

The present edition of the IMEX fair officially opened this Wednesday at the World Trade Center in Barcelona.

"Impulso África is the initiative launched in 2021 by Revista Moneda Única, which promotes greater knowledge of the African continent among Spanish businessmen, in order to increase the current numbers of trade and investment", the note also says.
