According to the diplomat, China will continue to support the country in socio-economic and infrastructural development. He cited as an example the investments in the new Luanda International Airport and in the Caculo Cabaça Hydroelectric Power Plant, under construction on the Cuanza river, among other undertakings, still in the pipeline, in the sectors of industry, agriculture, fisheries and exploitation of mineral resources.
With the aim of boosting national social and economic development, China also intends to follow the country's policies to promote private investment, diversify the economy and create more jobs, says a statement from Parliament to which VerAngola had access.
Gong Tao also guaranteed that they will continue to support Angola in the peace process and conflict stabilization around the world.
He also took the opportunity to congratulate Parliament on holding the 147th Assembly of the Union of the IPU, scheduled for next October.
Bilateral Relations
As for bilateral relations between the two countries, the assessment is positive, as it is based on strategic partnerships, which has been deepened over the last few years, despite the challenges of covid-19.
It is recalled that China, during the covid-19 pandemic, built the Huoyan (Olho de Fogo) laboratory in Luanda, with the aim of increasing the detection capacity of the new coronavirus. He also made several donations, namely the acquisition of equipment and biosafety materials to support Angola in fighting the pandemic.
