Government intends to carry out a new population census

The Government wants to carry out a new general census of the population, having analyzed, in the 3rd session of the Council of Ministers, the proposed law that authorizes the holder of the executive power to legislate on the census.

According to a note made available on Facebook by the Presidency of the Republic, at the meeting, which took place this Thursday, at the Presidential Palace, the council analyzed several documents, including a proposal for a law that authorizes the holder of the executive power to legislate on the general population census "which, constitutionally, should take place in 2024 (ten years after the last one)".

The proposal will then be sent to the National Assembly.

In the field of energy, according to the note, "a set of legal diplomas was approved aimed at establishing good practices in the management of naturally occurring radioactive materials and other radioactive waste".

Also at the meeting, the Council of Ministers appreciated the master plans for the districts of Bailundo, Caála, Catchiungo, Lounduimbali, Mungo and Tchicala-Tcholoanga, all in Huambo province.

According to the TPA, in the same session, the council also analyzed another document that defines the permanent guidelines for the realization, collection, validation, calculation, analysis and dissemination of official statistical information alluding to the demographic and socio-economic aspects of the population must obey.

The Council of Ministers also gave the 'green light' to three documents relating to the Public Administration, Labor and Social Security sector, including the legal regime for mandatory social protection for self-employed workers, the presidential decree that regulates the preparation and application of of the occupational qualifier and the system of fees and emoluments to be charged by vocational training institutions controlled by the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training.
