Grandes Moagens de Angola guarantees wheat imports until September

Grandes Moagens de Angola recently secured the import of enough wheat to ensure market supply until September from a French cooperative.

Consequently, the company ensures the production of wheat flour for the national market at stable prices for five months and contributes to ensuring that there are no disruptions in supply, it said in a statement sent to VerAngola.

César Rasgado, on behalf of the company's management, says that with this negotiation, GMA "has already guaranteed the import of enough wheat to guarantee the market that there will be no disruptions for five months". "The raw material now secured may also be used by its partners and associates of APFTA", he adds.

Given the scarcity of raw materials and the effect on the final price of bread - "and because the satisfaction of consumer needs is and will continue to be the company's number one objective" - ​​the same official informs that GMA "is available for together with the Government and other partners in the sector to analyze a set of measures that can contribute to the stabilization of the final price of bread, a good of first necessity".

These measures can pass subsidies or subsidies and even some kind of tax forgiveness.

It is recalled that Grandes Moagens de Angola's main activity is the production of wheat flour and an installed capacity to produce up to 280,000 tons of product per year.

Support for national production, by guaranteeing the flow of products produced to Angola, and working together with other companies in the sector have been some of the main objectives of GMA in the last two years, in order to contribute to the self-sufficiency of the market.
