Government suspends application of high security tax stamps

The Government decided to suspend the entry into force of the mandatory use of high security tax stamps, scheduled for April 10, 2022, because “the best conditions are being created for its effective implementation”.

:

The suspension of the entry into force of Executive Decree no. , which Lusa had access to.

According to the document, signed by the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves, the suspension stems from the need to create "better conditions for the effective implementation of tax stamps in order to guarantee, consequently, the efficient fulfillment of the sealing of the selected products".

The legal diploma, already published in Diário da República, states that the suspension of the aforementioned regulation goes until the approval of a new diploma that, among others, defines a new deadline for its entry into force.

A National High Security Tax Stamps Program will be managed by the Angolan General Tax Administration (AGT) within the scope of the aforementioned decree.

The high security tax stamp will become mandatory for economic operators, with a view to creating control mechanisms in a sector affected by counterfeiting and smuggling.

Among the various objectives pursued by the program is the fight against counterfeiting, smuggling and the guarantee that the taxes to which alcoholic beverages, tobacco and sugary drinks are subject are effectively paid.
